Mr. Ronald Drummond
President and CEO of JRW Visions
I grew up in the community — Right here on Wharton St. As a kid, I worked on small motors in my mom’s basement, went to school in the Philadelphia school system, and went to Bok Voc Tech where I learned to weld. From there I attended Ononancock High School on the Eastern Shore of Virginia where I studied an academic curriculum. From there I enlisted in the US Air Force where I was trained as a Machinist.
After the Air Force I went to work at the US Mint, where I retired from as a Supervisor of all the Trade Shops and served as President of Federal Managers Association. I’m a Certified Facilitator in Front Line Leadership and now serving as a Trustee at Mount Moriah TBC.
Mr. Willie E. Norris, Jr.
VP and Treasurer of JRW Visions
Willie grew up in South Philadelphia around the 5th and Wharton Street area, and he has lived in that area for the last 60+ years. He was born in 1957 in the old Einstein Hospital (Southern Division) that was located at 5th and Reed Streets.

One of the reasons for Willie to get involved in the community’s business was because, looking back at his own life, he remembered the things that were going on in the community back then. It’s not even close to the things that are going on now. There was a recreation center, schools that opened some nights for recreation purposely, community trips, neighborhood involvement and learning from the elders, community menots, organized sports, and the list goes on.

Willie also has a special interest in JRW’s Visions Reading Program. He still has his 3rd Grade report card, and looking back at that year, he realizes he had a reading problem and that teachers were writing to his grandmother. Unfortunately, at that time, he was unable to receive help since his grandma could not read herself.
